Grainy/Noisy photos tend to come from low-light situations, where the ISO is cranked up. Different cameras will handle this better than others. But a couple of ideas:
- Low-light doesn’t mean night. Even indoors can be low light to the camera.
- Read about scenes in your camera manual to find any that lower ISO.
- Lower ISO typically leads to less noise.
- Try a flash if possible to add more light and lower ISO
- Many cameras have a noise reduction feature, but try both with and without.
- Many photo editors, like Lightroom and Photoshop have noise reduction features.
Do not add too much noise reduction as this limits resolution and degrades image quality due to softness
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback. Great point.
ReplyDeleteI prefer to apply noise correction in software where I can adjust it. The camera will do what it is going to do, which may be fine, but may well not.
